Hey future School Bus Owners,
After three years of joy, happiness, sweat and also tears the time has come to sell our beloved ‘SKOOLIE’. Before we get into all the details and specs we want to tell you a bit more about our story. Loni and I have met over eight years ago while travelling through Australia and owned our very first Camper Van down there. After two years we moved back to my home country Germany and realised quickly that we couldn’t do it without a Van and so we bought a VW Bus and travelled through countless countries including England, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Bosnia.
In 2015 we decided to move back to Loni’s home Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada and realised quickly that having a vehicle for travel purposes is essential for us and the lifestyle being connected with nature and the outdoors.
At that time I was working as a residential carpenter and Loni was studying for Bachelor in Business/Marketing at the Okanagan College. Owning a Pathfinder was great to explore BC but we needed something more comfortable which allowed us to stay in the backcountry for longer periods of time. The idea of converting a school bus never crossed our minds until we discovered a conversion on Instagram. We immediately knew that we have to build our own. The building process took about six months of solid work spread over the past three years. Everything on the bus is entirely done by our self or with the help of handy family members and friends.
We tried to create a cozy and functional ‘Home on wheels’ where spending even the rainy days are an adventure.
